Schools: Mar Thoma Gram Jyoti School, Teimar, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

The school, registered under the Government of Madhya Pradesh and recognized by its Education Department, is functioning at Teimar village on the outskirts of Jabalpur city from 1998.

The school runs classes from KG to class X and has a total of 272 students, including 150 boys and 122 girls. There are 13 teachers.

The school functions with the financial support of St.Andrews Mar Thoma Church, Jabalpur and the Delhi Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church through the Mar Thoma Gram Jyoti Education and Development Society.

Of the 272 students, 42 are from the Scheduled Castes, 63 from Scheduled Tribes, 157 from tribal communities and 10 from the general category.

Apart from the academic classes, prayer, awareness classes, PT classes, Computer classes and spoken English classes are held regularly. The moral classes are conducted under the leadership of the evangelist, Mr. Bovas George.

A balavadi is also functioning under the school in Bhita village about one km
away. Basic education is provided to the village children through this balvadi. Also, the Temar mission is looking forward to commencing a new English Medium School for the villagers and to upgrade the high school to a Higher Secondary level for which the construction will be starting shortly.
