After a year of creating new centres, the year 2009 - 2010 was a year to consolidate its functions. This year, 4 representatives from the Delhi Diocese were elected to the General Committee of the MTYS. On October 3rd, 2009 along with NCCI Commission on Youth, the Delhi Diocese Yuvajana Sakhyam organized a Pre-NEYA ecumenical youth meeting at the St. Peter's Orthodox Cathedral in Gole Market. 50 young people from Mar Thoma, Orthodox, Jacobite, CNI, Methodist and Catholic Churches participated. A Diocesan Youth Retreat was held on November 28th, 2009 and more than 150 youth from various parts of the diocese participated. Rev. Sham P Thomas delivered the main talk on 'Sign Posts in the Journey of Faith.' Merit Awards for students securing highest marks in 12th exams was presented during the retreat. A youth delegation of the diocese also participated at the National Ecumenical Youth Assembly held in Kolkatta from 6th to 10th January 2010. On 30th January 2010, Rev Binu M Thomas Memorial Badminton tournament was held at St. Mary's School Dwarka and Jerusalem MTC won the ever rolling trophy. Under the initiative of DDYS, young people volunteered at various events of the Diocese including Diocesan Assembly and Gloria in Excelsis. It was a painful experience to lose our Vice President Rev Mathew Thomas in the report year. In solidarity to Achen's family in a time of need, the diocesan youth also made a small contribution. Rev. Jiju Joseph (Jerusalem MTC, New Delhi) was appointed as the new VP. Mr. Samuel Philip Mathew (Faridabad, All Saints MTC) served as secretary and Mr. Thomas Mathew (Karol Bagh, St Thomas MTC) as treasurer. Delhi, Lucknow and Bhopal Centres function actively under the Diocese.
