Yuvajana Sakhyam

Organizing Yuvajana Sakhyam at the Diocesan level has been a dream for long time & now it has come into fruition with the guidance. The Diocesan Yuvajana Sakhyam ensured the participation of our youths in various Ecumenical programmes in North India representing our Church. Some of the major activities undertaken during the reporting year are as follows; 

 

1. One Day Conference:

The first one day Conference was held on 11th August at St. Peters MTC. Our chief guest for the day was Rev. Sunni E. Mathew (Principal of DJVP) who took Sessions on the theme "Liturgy: Devotional and Educative". A bookmark was also released and distributed on this day containing the proposed yearly programs. We has a participation of 135 youths. All in all it was a wonderfully organized program by the parish youths.

The 2nd' one Day Conference was hosted by St. Thomas MTC, Karol Bagh on February, 2019. The theme for the conference was "Barnabas: Principles of leadership" which was a blessed experience and an introspective sessions with different acivities connecting to the theme. Our Guest speaker Rev. Mathews George, Chaplain, Mumbai Diocese was an inspiration to many youths and led the conference making the sessions worth and meaningful. Singing session was led by "Moments of Glory" Team. Special thanks to St. Thomas MTC, Karol Bagh and its youths for making it a grand success.

2. Rev. Mathew Thomas Memorial Quiz & Talent Hunt:

The  Rev. Mathew Thomas Memorial Quiz and Talent hunt Competition was hosted by St. James Mar Thoma Church, Dwarka on 8th September, 2018. All the Sakyams of Delhi Centre participated in the competitions viz, Liturgical Singing, Skit and Bible Quiz. More than 120 youths participated in this program. The overall Champions were Immanuel MTC, Noida. We thank the youths of St. James MTC, Dwarka for organizing this program wonderfully.

3. Rev. Binu Thomas Memorial Badminton Tournament:

Delhi Centre Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam hosted the 7th Rev. Binu Thomas Memorial Badminton tournament on October 27, 2018 at AIIMS Gymkhana Club. All Sakhyams participated in the event making it a Grand Success. Special thanks to the Convenors Mr. Chris Cherian (Immanuel MTC, Noida), Ms. Litiy Chacko (St. Thomas MTC, Karol Bagh), Mr. Jerin Reji (All Saints MTC, Faridabad) and Mr. Ajin J. Mathew (St. Peter's MTC, Patparganj) and everyone including the Registration Desk, the Food arrangement and the Prize distribution teams for helping us organize the event. The Overall Champions were Immanuel MTC, Noida.

4. Delhi Diocese Youth Convention 2018:

The Delhi Diocesan Youth Convention was held on November 24, 2018 at St. John's School, Masjid Moth. It was presided by Rt. Rev. Gregorias Mar StephanasEpiscopa who graced the event with his presence.

The Main Speaker for the convention was Rev. A.T. Thomas. This year we had a participation of more than 100 youths. "Moments of Glory" the DCMYS gospel team led the singing session.

5. Gloria 2018:

In the Gloria 2018, organised by our Diocese, our gospel team, Moments of Glory, presented the medley of Christmas songs.

6.  Annual Sports Meet 2018:

Sports meet is a strongly participated event of the DCMVS. This time it was organized by Immanuel MTC, NOIDA on 19th January, 2019 at CWG Village Sports Complex, Akshandham. More than 400 people participated this year making this event a success. The efforts of the Immanuel MTC parishioners and their YuvajanaSakhyam under the leadership of Rev. Lijo Johnson in making this event a success is worth mentioning. The inauguration for the annual sports meet was done by our Thirumeni, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gregorios Mar Stephanos amidst the presence of achens who came to support the parishes. The Overall Champions were St. Peter's MTC, Patparganj. Special thanks to the Convenors Mrs. Merin Jose and Mr. Saurabh Jacob for conducting it and managing it very well.

7. Social Visit 2018:

This time the Delhi Centre Mar ThomaYuvajanaSakhyam visited 'Mother Teresa's Missionaries ofCharity, JeevanJyothi Home' -the Missionaries of Charityon 9th March, 2019. About 35 youths participated in this initiative. We were able to collect and donate as kind generously towards such an institution.  Special thanks to Mrs. Merin Jose (Immanuel MTC, NOIDA) and Ms. Rebecca Johnson (StJames MTC, Dwarka) for making this visit memorable.

8. Lay Leader's Training:

Lay leaders Training a combine classes with the Edavaka Mission was kept at Delhi Mar Thoma Centre, Gole Market. Faculty from Dharma JyotiVidyapeeth led the sessions. Youths from different parishes participated for the classes. "Moments of Glory" team led the singing session.

9. Kerala Flood Relief:

Kerala Flood Relief drive was run by DCMYS to support the people in Kerala who facedsevere flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains. The Total amount of Rs. 5000 was collected and transferred to the flood-affected family in Kerala. Thanks to parishes youths who diligently contributed for this noble cause.

10. Moments of Glory (Gospel Team):

This year the Gospel team 'Moments of Glory' did the live sessions at St. Peter's MTC, Patparganj, Immanuel MTC, NOIDA and Ghaziabad MTC. It focuses on understanding the Bible and spreading the Gospel through the youth talents. The team was formed by bringing together talented youths who volunteered for the same. Special thanks to Mr. Sija Varghese (St. Thomas MTC, Karolbagh) and Mr.Stephin T. Reji (St. Stephens MTC, MayurVihar) far co ordinating the team.

11. Cross Rhythm (E-Journal):

Delhi Centre Mar ThomaYuvajanaSakhyam continued their initiative "Cross Rhythm EJournal" this year as well. This year, 3 editions are published, titled "Rooted In Christ",

12. Mission Tour 2018:

This year our president Rev. Rajeev Daniel and few youths went to Kalahandi Mission Field. The Mission Tour was fromNovember 1, 2018 to November 6, 2018. It was a blessed experience for them. Let us pray and hope in the coming year many more.
